Every Five years the TCEQ renews the TXR050000 Stormwater General Permit, a Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP) that covers a broad range of industries. The current MSGPs are expiring on August 14, 2021 and permit holders have 90 days to review and assess the MSGP applicability, update Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), and renew their permits.

A few applicability questions that facilities should ask:
– Do any updates anticipated in the new MSGP affect your facility?
– Have there been change in operations/activities that need review?
– Have the changes to the SWPPP been documented over the past 5 years?
– Was the SWPPP last updated before the current permit authorization was received?

If you answer “Yes” to any of the questions above, it is time to update your SWPPP.

Our team of experts can assist with updating facility SWPPP and provide technical assistance to implement the changes proposed in the TCEQ’s 2021 MSGP. Please contact Gaurav Tripathi and Jim McDade, P.E. for assistance with the Stormwater issues.
