Mr. Irvin is a Technical Writer and Research Assistant with GSI. He has over 15 years of writing and editing experience in the fields of scientific/engineering consulting, computer technologies, ethical hacking, and software testing. He has has 12 years of hands-on technology experience and has successfully managed multi-discipline teams in high-stakes, high-pressure environments. His formal IT certifications and hands-on experience have given him a technical mindset for tackling both tactical and strategic project challenges.
Mr. Irvin has directly overseen ISO 9001 QMS documentation processes and was responsible for creating and maintaining a “culture of quality” throughout his business unit, while guiding it through several successful audits. He has implemented numerous cost-saving process improvements using freely available software and interactive tools for tracking global status of projects in process. Mr. Irvin’s project support experience includes technical writing and editing, technical assistance for large dollar projects, online research, and budget monitoring and reporting. His marketing support experience includes research, and editorial and production work for proposals in response to RFPs.
As a member of InfoWorld Magazine’s Test Center, Mr. Irvin wrote and contributed to numerous published product reviews and technology evaluations. He shared a byline in the popular weekly column “Down to the Wire.” His editorial team was twice recognized by the Computer Press Awards for journalistic excellence as Runner-Up in the Best Software Product Review category.
