Since our inception in 1986, GSI engineers and scientists have been leaders in managing the risks of chemical impacts to the environment.  Our reputation in the field was established through early efforts developing the key principles of risk-based corrective action, then implementing these concepts at cleanup sites throughout the U.S. and abroad.  Over time we have conducted seminal research and development projects to advance our industry’s understanding of evolving concerns, such as non-aqueous phase liquids, vapor intrusion, and emerging contaminants.   Through our training seminars, guidance manuals, software tools, and technical publications, we have developed strong credibility with regulatory agencies across the U.S. and overseas.  Partnerships with academia and participation in various technical committees, such as ITRC and ASTM, allows GSI to provide our clients with leading-edge technologies and risk-management concepts that are grounded in practical applications.  Our staff have broad expertise and have completed site investigation and remediation projects in numerous settings, including active and former industrial facilities, oil and gas fields, chemical plants and refineries, Superfund sites, Brownfields redevelopment properties, Department of Defense facilities, Coal Combustion Residual sites, and many other sites undergoing cleanup under various federal or state remediation programs.
