Product Recalls

GSI has provided technical support to companies facing product recall decisions. In many cases, our work has involved identifying the chemical that triggered the evaluation and the specific health effect(s) associated with the chemical in question. Typically, we also estimate the exposure likely to arise from use of the product. To help decide if a recall is warranted on a technical basis, we compare the estimated level of exposure to the level at which adverse health effects might be expected. We have prepared written reports of such evaluations for presentation to regulatory agencies or for purposes of internal decision making.
