Alexandra Grant is an Environmental Engineer at the GSI office in Emeryville. Her primary expertise is in field investigations, water quality monitoring, environmental data analysis, applied environmental research, and technical communications and writing.
Alexandra has extensive experience collecting and analyzing environmental samples and is proficient in a variety of analytical methods and instrumentation. She has co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications focused on wastewater-impacted river dynamics, fluorescence-based water quality indicators, and satellite remote sensing methods. Alexandra has worked closely with regulatory agencies, non-profits, academia, and the private sector to characterize pollution-impacted sites, assess contaminant transport, and evaluate remedial alternatives.
As a Research Associate with the San Diego State University Water Innovation and Reuse Laboratory, Alexandra contributed to multiple federally funded research programs supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and NASA. Her responsibilities included field sampling design and implementation, laboratory management, statistical analysis, data visualization, technical reporting, presenting research findings, and mentoring undergraduate researchers. Prior to her graduate studies, she served as a Scientific Aid with the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board, where she supported water quality monitoring efforts, environmental review activities, and regulatory research associated with CEQA and NEPA compliance. At Santa Barbara Channelkeeper, she led a team in regular water quality monitoring of the Goleta Valley Watershed.
At GSI, Alexandra will support site investigations, remediation projects, and regulatory compliance efforts. Some of her responsibilities will include sample collection and analysis, data management, feasibility evaluations, remediation project design and implementation, and preparing technical reports.
