Dr. Mori is a staff Engineer at Irvine California and has a broad academic and research experience with computational groundwater modeling, infectious disease modeling, environmental data analysis, and soil/hydraulic property characterization. She received a B.E. in Chemical Engineering from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, an M.S. in Hydrologic Science from Colorado School of Mines, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from the Ohio State University. In between her Ph.D. and M.S., she worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Her Ph.D. topic was to distinguish environmental and other factors contributing to the spatio-temporal variability of West Nile Virus in the United States. Her work illustrated the potential importance of hydrological processes in the field of epidemiology and public health as well as addressed the importance of data visualization and computing skills to derive insights from complex data in the field of environmental science.
