Mr. Almestad is a Professional Geologist with GSI Environmental Inc, and has more than 9 years of experience as a technical consultant working on site investigation and monitoring, remediation, due diligence and water resource projects for a large variety of clients in municipal, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, high technology, private equity, legal and energy sectors. His primary focus has been on developing, managing and implementing complex soil and groundwater investigations, groundwater monitoring programs, vapor intrusion assessments, and remedial programs. Additionally, he has performed hydrogeological assessments and developed hydrogeological conceptual models for Groundwater Sustainability Plans and Alternative Plans under the California Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA).
Mr. Almestad is highly experienced with sampling and analysis of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil and groundwater and has presented at the California Unified Program Agency (CUPA) conference on PFAS sampling strategies and field considerations.
