Mr. Nusenow is a Professional Engineer and Principal Engineer at GSI office in Irvine. He has more than 30 years of experience in groundwater and environmental fields. His primary expertise is in characterization and remediation of impacted groundwater, soil, and soil gas for industrial and commercial clients.
Mr. Nusenow environmental engineering experience includes the design, construction, optimization, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems using a multitude of different treatment technologies. He has evaluated, implemented, and operated a wide range of remediation processes, including air sparging (AS), bioventing, capping, enhanced bioremediation, ex- and in-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), excavation, natural attenuation, neutralization, nonaqueous-phase liquid removal, pump and treat, soil vapor extraction (SVE), and surfactant injection. Mr. Nusenow has routinely been involved in the preparation of work plans, cost estimates, remedial investigations/feasibility studies, pilot tests, permitting, design, installation, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, site closures, and regulatory compliance consultation. He has prepared numerous cost estimates for soil and groundwater remediation in support of litigation, mediation, and insurance claim evaluations.
Mr. Nusenow’s ability to relate to clients and regulators, combined with his high technical expertise and regulatory compliance experience enables him to effectively understand client needs and provide regulatory agencies with acceptable cost-effective solutions for site remediation. He has successfully negotiated site closure at several impacted sites with regulatory agencies.
