

Mr. Scaramella is a Senior Risk Assessor with more than 10 years of experience in performing human health risk assessments, evaluating indoor air quality concerns, and assessing and mitigating vapor intrusion. Mr. Scaramella develops and implements strategies for obtaining regulatory closure at former industrial facilities impacted with petroleum hydrocarbons and chlorinated solvents. His core responsibilities include the preparation of human health risk assessments to evaluate possible human exposure to chemicals in the environment, quantifying health risks in multi-pathway evaluations, and estimating site-specific health-based cleanup goals. His expertise includes the design of environmental sampling programs for site characterization, monitoring, and model validation, and fate and transport evaluations to quantify the potential migration of chemicals in the environment to estimate human exposure.
Mr. Scaramella regularly presents environmental risk analyses to multi-disciplinary teams of regulators, consultants, and stakeholders on behalf of clients in industry. He has extensive experience providing technical support for negotiations with responsible parties, interaction and negotiation with regional and local regulatory agencies, and presenting to the public regarding risk-related concerns.
