Ms. Gallardo is a Principal Engineer with GSI Environmental Inc. In her 35 years of experience as an environmental consultant, Ms. Gallardo has served as a technical practitioner and director of multi-disciplinary teams on a broad spectrum of projects from environmental site assessments, to site investigations and development and implementation of risk-based corrective actions and remedial programs for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater contamination issues. She is adept at bringing together expert teams of toxicologists, hydrogeologists and engineers and applying a common-sense approach to problem solving that includes consideration of the client, regulatory, and community stakeholders.
In addition to her work on legacy environmental projects, Ms. Gallardo has provided consultation related to real estate transactions; mergers and acquisitions; and building decommissioning and repurposing;. She frequently conducts third party peer review to provide input on risk-based corrective action, remediation costs, and regulatory strategies. Ms. Gallardo has been responsible for designing and implementing remedial solutions. In this capacity, she has overseen and contributed to the preparation of design specifications, bid packages, and contract requirements. She is knowledgeable of a myriad of environmental regulations, policies, and guidance documents.
On her projects, she has interfaced directly with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 9, the California Regional Water Quality Control Boards, Regions 1, 2, and 5, the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, the California Energy Commission, Air Quality Management Districts, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and numerous local agencies.
