Assessed the presence or absence of environmental damages and the need for, scope of, and associated cost of appropriate remedial actions; evaluation of the toxicity of crude oil and produced water discharges; and conducted a human health and ecological risk assessment. Assessed 17 February 2021 Page 2 of 4 the consistency of environmental management practices employed by the oilfield operator with the prevailing practices and regulations of that time.
GSI experts provided expert opinions regarding potential environmental impacts to principal aquifers, related to oil well drilling, construction, and abandonment practices; disposal of produced water and other wastes; and management of Naturally- Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM). Evaluated the presence, absence, or likelihood of impacts to the beneficial use of groundwater resources and associated potential response actions to mitigate this effect. Investigated historical international and U.S. industry practices for environmental management of oil and gas operations; development of environmental laws and regulations; management tools for environmental, health and safety programs; and assessment of environmental impacts and remediation requirements.
