

Dr. Max Giannetta is a geochemist in GSI’s Irvine office. He has expertise interpreting the fate and transport of solutes in both surface and groundwater. Max has over 6 years of experience performing research on the mobility of toxic metals associated with mines and tracking microbially mediated reactions in natural and engineered environments using stable isotope analysis.
Max has been involved on projects including litigation support, forensic analysis of geochemical data, environmental investigation to assess sources of contamination, groundwater recharge, saltwater intrusion, and development of water resources.
Max earned his B.S. in Geoscience and minor in Chemistry at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, his M.Sc. in Geology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his Ph.D. in Earth Science at the University of Barcelona in conjunction with the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CISC) in Barcelona, Spain.
